The Japanese Motion Graphic Creators 2011 book + DVD presents 100 Japanese videographers, creators of music videos, advertisements and animated films which have left their mark this year. These films push back the boundaries in video mapping (projection of videos and light on buildings and other uneven surfaces), 3D and datamoshing (creation of errors/effects in video compression). Japanese Motion Graphic Creators 2011 features five collaborations between media artists and musicians such as Daito Manabe and Perfume or Gain Ito and Kuchiroro and catalogues the hundred most prominent videographers in Japan today. In catalogue format, you'll find photos of their latest work, a short biography, references and contact details. The DVD includes forty three extracts of around a minute, offering a wide spectrum of styles and artistic/commercial intentions. Among the featured artists some of the notables are onnacodomo and their analogue VJing, Kei Oyama and his superb animation or, Saito Yohei (alias Rokapenis) the video director in the Baby-Q dance company who has recently produced a video with Picopico for Maruosa's album Extream!!!!!, Sojiro Kamatani who draws and animates the magnificent Oorutaichi videos, Genki Ito and his Jemapur and Hifana videos, Katsuki Tanaka's digital psychedelia, the SphinkS duo who take part in Oorutaich and Yuichi Kishino (alias La Veuve Moustachue) concerts and finally Yuichiro Tamura's poignant, poetic installations.
